2026–2027 Graduate Scholarship

The American Association of University Women (AAUW) St. George Branch is proud to announce the formal completion of its 2026–2027 Graduate Scholarship award cycle.

Demonstrating a steadfast commitment to advancing equity and education, the branch has awarded a total of $20,000 in funding this year, distributing $2,500 individual awards to eight exceptional graduate students attending Utah Tech University.

This year’s outstanding scholars represent a wide range of fields dedicated to strengthening individuals, families, and communities through education, healthcare, counseling, and the arts. AAUW St. George celebrates their academic achievements and is deeply honored to support these students as they continue their educational journeys and prepare to make meaningful contributions in their professions and communities.

Meet the 2026–2027 Scholars
The competitive selection process highlighted individuals showcasing extraordinary leadership, academic excellence, and a passion for community enrichment. The branch proudly congratulates the following recipients:

• Marriage & Family Therapy: McCall Black, Brooklyn Rushton, Brynlee Bybee, and Jaxon Keeler. These scholars are dedicating their futures to fostering mental wellness, cultivating resilient family systems, and providing crucial therapeutic support.

• Occupational Therapy: Aryn Mitton and Gabby Royle. Their work focuses on enhancing patient independence, rehabilitation, and long-term quality of life through specialized therapeutic practices.

• Education and Leadership: Lara Stucki. Pursuing advanced studies in education, Stucki is preparing to shape future generations, drive systemic educational improvement, and inspire young minds.

• Studio Art: Brittany Cowley. Representing the vital role of the humanities, Cowley’s creative pursuit in the arts enriches the cultural fabric and creative expression of our society.

A Rigorous Selection Process
Reaching the final selection required a meticulous evaluation of an incredibly competitive applicant pool. The AAUW St. George Branch extends its deepest gratitude to the six-member review team, whose diverse academic and professional expertise ensured a balanced, objective, and thorough review of each candidate.

The caliber of applicants this cycle was truly exception, with every one of these eight recipients possessing not just the intellectual capability, but the profound empathy and vision required to be true changemakers in their respective fields.

The AAUW St. George Branch Scholarship Team members were Susan Harrington, Mary Weissman, Patricia Knott, Margaret Abramshe, Carol Somplatsky-Jarman and Marsha Besch. The Scholarship program was led by Dana Naylor.

Investing in the Future For decades, the AAUW St. George Branch has worked tirelessly to break down barriers for students pursuing higher education. By easing the financial burden of graduate school, these $2,500 awards allow recipients to focus more deeply on their rigorous clinical hours, student teaching, and creative portfolios.

Overall, since our Branch’s inception, the cumulative scholarship monies awarded are above $370,000. The St. George Branch extends its warmest congratulations to the class of 20262027 scholars. The community looks forward to witnessing the lasting, positive impact their careers will undoubtedly bring.
